NEW WORDS ARE ACCEPTABLE FROM NOW ON effective March 2019. All the NASPA’s new words are valid and playable in the Superscrabble Club. However, there are some NEW short words added to the Superscrabble Club’s Official Word List. I know this is a deviation from the NASPA’s rule, but it is necessary for our club, because it has been noted these words have existed and used very often among younger generation, as well as some older people since 1975 to the present day. There are 17 short words I will add to the list of the Superscrabble Club; I will prepare the short list and include the meaning of each word. Just visualize the words in GREEN color so you won’t get disoriented when you go back and play with NASPA’s serious people.
For your convenience, I will print out the list of new words from NASPA that includes the updates needed for the longer words on behalf of the Superscrabble Club. There are 3,490 combined, adding the longer inflections and variants on the words beyond 15 letters, and without the short new words that the Superscrabble Club will add (17 total) to the Word Judge for Clubs and Tournament, 2019 Edition. Thanks to Amnon for contributing his compilation of new words, and to Gary Moss for the short words collected valid to play per the OSPD6 update.
The instant reward for finding 12- to 13-letter words is now worth $320. The pot for words with 14 to 15+ letters will have $420. This is not difficult at all; you’re allowed to signal your opponent that the short word you’ve just played played is a potential candidate to become a very long word; it is up to the players to build it up. This Superscrabble Club is not a strict club. Players are allowed to learn longer words, especially those words beyond 15 letters long.
To qualify for the assigned category-word award, the word must contain 5 letters or more. Winning 3 games gets a $25 reward. To give chance to others, 3-game winners cannot have the high-game and high-cum awards. Each bonus word played gets $1/word. Please list all your category words on the stat sheet.
