RESULTS: 3-23-17 SUPERSCRABBLE

Congrats to all winners!  Two champions Bill Lapinski and Gary Moss are the 3-game winners: Bill’s cum=3113 and Gary’s cum=2799.  Bill had a high-point bingo=158 for SNOTTIER.  Najat Reikes got the high game-point of 1045, and high non-bingo word=INQUIRE=72 points (non-bingo, because she had one tile left on her rack).  We celebrated Don Platt’s B-day, and we missed singing happy B-day to Fern and Joanie. The prizes awarded during the games on March 23, 2017 totaled $193.45. Six players found the assigned category words, winning $5/word:

In my attempt to give everybody a chance to win something after 3 long games at the Superscrabble Club, hopefully this will be the last time to revise the distribution method in order to give more opportunity for others to win prizes. The player who wins 3 games cannot take the awards for the highest-cum score and the highest single game scorePlease cut out and save this portion so that you will know what to expect whenever you join the funnest game in town. There is no fee to join the club. It’s purely for the good of all.

There are 7 prizes listed below.

ROUND 2:  Words with –AA– next to each other anywhere in a word; must be 5 letters or more:  Examples:  AALII, AALIIS, AARDVARK, AARDWOLF, AARGH, AARRGH, AARRGHH, AASVOGEL, AAHED, AAHING, BAAED, BAAING, BAALS, BAALIM, BAALISM, BAASES, BAASKAAP, BAASKAP, BAZAAR, BAZAARS, CRAAL, CRAALED, CRAALING, CRAALS, GRAAL, GRAALS, HAAFS, HAARS, KAMAAINA, KRAAL, KRAALED, LAAGER, LAAGERED, LAARI, MAARS, MARKKAA, NAANS, PRAAM, QUAALUDE, RUFIYAA, SALAAM, SALAAMED, WADMAAL, WADMAALS, etc

ROUND 3:  Fresh fruits and vegetables you may find in the grocery store.  Examples:  APPLES, APRICOT, BANANA, CABBAGE, CHERRY, DURIAN, GRAPES, GUAVA, MANGO, MANGOSTEEN, PEARS, PLUMS, LYCHEE, LITCHI, OPUNTIA, BEANS, SPINACH, KALES, MELONS, ONIONS, SQUASH, TOMATO, ZUCCHINI, BROCCOLI, GINGER, KUMQUAT, etc.

ALL DAY CATEGORY:  The same as ROUND 1.  Check your word lists.  There are many 7-letter words under this category.  I know MISTAKE, MISTOOK, MISTEUK, MISDEED, MISREAD, MISGAVE, MISPAGE, etc.

SERIOUSLY LEARN a long word to win the 12- to 13-letter-word category ($130), or 14- to 15+letter words ($485).  Players who find the long word together may split the prize.  ENVIRONMENTAL or ENVIRONMENTAL.  By adding “-LY” at the end, the word will qualify for the14- to 15+ letters:  ENVIRONMENTALLY has 15 letters.
