Results 2-23-17 Superscrabble Club

WELCOME back Pat Yarnell!  We hope to see you next Superscrabble games [March 23, 2017]. The total awards totaled $220.20.  The intent of our word game is FOR THE GOOD OF ALL players, and to stimulate the neurons of our brain cells.  Seven players were able to play the assigned category words containing five or more letters:

Congrats to all winners! Roy Kamen is the champ winning 3 games, high game=1120, and 17 bingos.  Bill Lapinski gets the award for high cum=3010. High cum is awarded to the 2nd highest cum score to achieve fairness in the award distribution. Lynn Gunn won the high scoring bingo word=129 PARSONS, and Najat Reikes had the non-bingo word=88 ZAIRE.  All players who listed the bonus (bingo) words played were awarded $1/bingo.

ROUND 2:  Words containing …ILY at the END of a word; see the following samples of 5-, 6- to 7-letter words:  DAILY, DOILY, DRILY, GAILY, ICILY, NOILY, ROILY, SHILY, SLILY, etc.; AERILY, AIRILY, ARTILY, etc.; ABILITY, AGILITY, ANALITY, ANGRILY, ANILITY, BAGGILY, BALKILY, BALMILY, BAWDILY, BEADILY, BEAMILY, BEEFILY, BONNILY, BOOZILY, BOSSILY, BULKILY, BUMPILY, BURLILY, BUSHILY, CAMPILY, CANNILY, CATTILY, CHARILY, COCKILY, CORNILY, CRAZILY, CRUSILY, CURLILY, CUSHLILY, etc.

ROUND 3:  Words having to do with cooking, particularly the equipment and method used in cooking–not the name of food.  Examples:  BEATERS, BLENDER, FRYING, COOKER, CALDRON, KETTLE, BOILER, CALDERA, SKIMMERS, SLICERS, SPATULAS, SPOONS, TONGS, WHISKS, SLICERS, LADLES, MIXERS, MIXING, BOILING, SIMMER, GRILLING, STIRS, STIRRING, SAUTEING, KNEADING, KNEAD, etc.

ALL DAY CATEGORY:  Herb-related words and homeopathic remedies: Examples:  BASIL, ROSEHIP, ROSEMARY, MINTS, OREGANO, ORIGAN, MARIJUANA, MARJORAM, CATNIP, CELERY, CILANTRO, THYME, THYMI, THYMUS, MALANGA, COMFREY, EPHEDRA, IPECAC, HERBAL, HYPERICUM, PTISAN, SAGES, LEMONGRASS, EUCALYPT, VERBENA, etc.

LEARN two long words to win the 12- to 13-letter ($125 in the box), or 14- to 15+letter words ($480 in the box).  Players who find the long word together will split the prize.  ZYGOMA, TIC, ZYGOMATIC, ZYGOMATICOFACIAL (16 letters).  By recalling two bingo words and combining them, such as COLLECT and ABILITY it is quite possible to see the 14-letter word COLLECTABILITY (It takes 2 steps.)
