RESULTS 12-15-16 GAMES

Standard

First of all I wish to THANK all of you for your thoughtfulness in putting together the best Christmas present I’ve ever received from friends: a lovely artistic quilt with memorable photos to remember. A million thanks to all of you for making my life so colorful, meaningful, and for being there to play with me during my favorite game! You’re all awesome friends!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS!  As mentioned in the last announcement, two wins during the SuperS Christmas games will get a special award: 25 + the usual 5/word for each category assigned, + 1/bingo in addition to high game, high bingo/non-bingo word, and high cum. The high cum will be awarded as soon as it is determined, and will be handed on the next meeting. The day was truly full of fun to remember! Superscrabble Club had two games; the winners are:

REMINDER: SuperS Club Christmas games on 12-15-16 at 2130 Chandler Drive, Tustin 92782.  Please confirm: text at 714-654-4308 or email maliha.mendoza@gmail.com; or 714-544-4746 home.  The finders of words in the following categories will receive an instant prize; the words must contain 5 or more letters to quality.

ROUND 1:  Words containing ONE vowel.  Examples:  CRYSTAL, PSCHENT, DRAWN, VASTLY, WITCH, WHICH, FIGHT, SIMPLY, SHODDY, METHYLS, MYTHY, MYSELF, HINDS, WELLS, WORLD, WORLDLY, THYMI, THYMUS, WORTHY, SCRUBBY, JUSTLY, FIRSTLY, THIRDLY, FIFTHLY, THYSELF, SINGLY, FORTH, BLESS, etc.  Except for two words, all words in this example were taken from a book by Sarah Young gifted by Gretchen in 2012.  It is compelling to read the 365 pages each year–can’t help to go back to page one after the New Year, reading just one page a day until 365 days are over.  Yesterday THYMI came from Amnon, a plural of THYMUS.

LUNCH BREAK, PLUS GRETCHEN’S FAVORITE GAME:  “Front, Left, and Right”—well, it’s a dice game.  We will do 2 SuperS games that day instead of 3. The winner of two games will receive a prize of $15.  Prize distribution pattern will be the same as the last meeting: Total number of bingos played ($1.00/bingo); Highest cum score ($10); High single game points ($0.01/point); Highest bingo-point compared to others ($5); Highest point for a non-bingo word ($5); and Category Words ($5/word).

ROUND 2:  Words starting with the letter X, but must contain 5 letters to qualify.  Examples:  XANTHAN, XANTHIC, XANTHIN, XANTHONE, XANTOUS, XEBEC, XENIA, XENIAL, XENIAS, XENIC, XENOBLAST, XENOGAMY, XYSTI, XENOGENY, XENOLITH, XENON, XENONS, XENOPUS, XENOTIME, XERARCH, XERIC, XEROSIS, XEROX, XERUS, XIPHOID, XYLAN, XYLEM, XYLENE, XYLIDIN, XYLITOL, XYLOID, XYLOL, XYLOSE, XYLYLS, XYSTER, etc.

ALL DAY CATEGORY:  Qualified words must contain these letters:  IER at the end of the word.  Examples:  ACHIER, AERIER, AIRIER, ANGRIER, ANTSIER, APPLIER, ARGUFIER, ARTIER, ARTSIER, ASHIER, ATELIER, AUNTLIER, BABIER, BAGGIER, BAIRNLIER, BALMIER, BARKIER, MARMIER, BARNIER, BARRIER, BASIFIER, BATTIER, BAWDIER, BEADIER, BEAKIER, BEAMIER, BEEFIER, BEERIER, BELIER, BENDIER, etc.

WHO’S LEARNING LONG WORDS?  LEARN two long words to win the 12- to 13-letter ($115 in the box), and 14- to 15+letter words ($470 in the box).  The pair of players who find the long word will split the prize.  Examples were sent by Amnon: SNOW BOAR DING for 12- to 13-letter word (forming SNOWBOARDING), and ANTE PEN ULTIMATE for 14- to 15+letter words (forming ANTEPENULTIMATE).

The next Super-S games:  January 26, 2016.
