Superscrabble 6-12-14

Standard

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: June 12, 2014 – Superscrabble Club.

We welcome newcomers. The first game starts at 10:00 A.M., group lunch is next. Please respond and confirm by email, phone 714-544-4746, cellphone or text 714-654-4308. If you’ve never played Superscrabble before, current participants will be happy to show you. There’s no need to bring equipment. Come, meet new friends, and enrich your mind with unusual words to play. It is the best therapy to stop the brain’s aging process, as well as enhance the young ones’ vocabulary power.

Today’s Plan: Gretchen hinted she has a plan. Anyhow, please look up plant-related words that start with the letter N. Examples: NUTTIER, NOSTOC, NANDIN, NANKEEN, NARDS, NEROLI, NERVINE, NUTGALL, NOPAL, NOSEGAY, etc. To win a prize the word must contain 5 letters or more.

We’ll take the rest of the day off, unless you want to return to play more. Return to the original venue If you wish to play another game. Please look up words about body parts: Example: FACES, ELBOW, HEART, HAIRY, INTESTINE, STOMACH, HAMSTRING, THIGH, TONGUE, ESOPHAGUS, EYEBALL, CORNEA, EPIDERMIS, etc.

LEARN a long word that can be played in multiple steps. Here’s a good one, and it’s a noun: PHOTOMORPHOGENESIS = 18 letters. Possibly three steps: MORPHO + GENESIS = MORPHOGENESIS. PHOTO might surface on your rack for hooking in front to make PHOTOMORPHOGENESIS. If this happens you stand to win $220. If two players can make it, a prize split may be necessary.
